He continually calls her "Baby" in this internal dialog and it comes off as awkward and out of place (WKRP in Cincinnati reference, it comes across very Herb Tarlek). His dialog is clunky, there's a lot of internal dialog with his character, in most of which he's "talking to" the deceased woman he took to her hometown from Hollywood to fulfill her wish of being buried there.
