There was an awful sewage smell in the corridors during the morning, which you could smell in the breakfast area. Of course having a Michelin starred restaurant gives them a certain "je ne sais quoi" - and the food was wonderful - but they still manage to remain relaxed and friendly rather than assuming the slightly pompous air that too often comes with one of those coveted stars! :) Your satisfaction is our priority. You should have requested it before being arrived and it would have been a pleasure to give you exactly the room as you wanted at your arrival. For your next stay, please note that the hotel has a private and secured parking, on booking at 10 euros per night including a valet parking service. We're very glad that you've appreciated the confort of your room as well as the facilities and different services of the hotel. Although my trip was work related the hotel would be ideal for a short holiday as you are well placed for cathedral etc. This hotel is on a busy street, and we were only one floor above street level. The only thing that bothered us is the noise from the floor above, everything somebody walks or moves a chair, the wooden ceilings would not temper the noise, and we had to use ear plugs to be able to sleep. lovely hotel. Before entering the main street again, there is a parking place for taxies on your right and you can park your car there to rush into the hotel (30m) and make your check-in. The quirky nature of the lift and the corridors reminds one of the original hotel. The old fashioned bar at the front looked very nice too. The room was perfect: spacious, modern, spotless, and it included a shower and separate bathtub. Right after passing it, there is a small street - turn into that street and you will find a reserved space on the right, at the hotel's walls and only few meters from the entrance, where the car can be parked for some minutes. Access to the Illuminere light shows is particularly good, as one site is just around the corner. Chartres Cathedral is minutes away. Guests praise the comfy beds. Its ideally located for the centre of town close to Railway station and there is an underground carpark right outside the hotel if your travelling by car. The lady at the front desk I believe went above and beyond for us. As you mentioned, the valet parking service is a quite appreciated service. This is our second visit, and we weren't disappointed.
